Module 1 Wonders of the World Unit 1
Tony:Let's call the "Wonders of the World" program and join the discussion. I think natural wonders are more interesting than man-made ones. And I believe the Giant's Causeway is the most magical natural wonder.
Lingling:Hmm, I've never seen it, so I'm not sure I agree with you. Why do you like it, Tony?
Tony:Well, I visited the Giant's Causeway two years ago. It's huge. It's made up of about 40,000 rocks, most of which have six sides. It stretches for hundreds of meters along the east coast of Northern Ireland.
Lingling:That sounds great, but I think the Victoria Falls in Africa is even more spectacular. It's about 1700 meters wide and 100 meters high. You can hear the roar of the falls from several kilometers away.
Betty:Wow, that's huge! But in my opinion, man-made wonders are more exciting. Look at the Terracotta Army. They're over 2000 years old.
Daming:I agree with you, Betty. I also think the Three Gorges Dam is amazing. It's about 2300 meters long, 185 meters high, and 15 meters wide at the top. It provides electricity for millions of people in China.
Betty:Now, who wants to be the first to call?
